ShofaPodcast

Shofa Podcast is a culture, creativity, and identity podcast hosted by Tara AlSabban, a London-based creative with Saudi roots. Built around the Arab tradition of the 'Shofa' (a marriage meeting), the show uses that lens to explore why audiences should give their hearts to each guest. The project required a digital presence that felt cinematic, culturally rooted, and distinct from typical podcast sites.

Impact

  • Distinct visual identity rooted in SWANA culture and aesthetics
  • Cinematic site design that stands apart from generic podcast platforms
  • Bilingual experience bridging Arabic and English audiences
  • Guest application flow built directly into the site

The Challenge

Most podcast websites default to platform embeds and episode lists. Shofa needed a site that reflected its editorial depth, a show about identity, culture, and the space between worlds deserved more than a template.

The Approach

Designed around the concept of a 'Shofa' — dark, atmospheric visuals using an oxblood and cream palette with film grain texture. Navigation structured to draw visitors into the show's concept before surfacing episodes. Guest application flow built as an immersive multi-step form.

The Outcome

A site that feels like the show: cinematic, culturally specific, and intentional. Listeners landing on shofaworld.com immediately understand what Shofa is before they've heard a word. Available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube, recorded between London and Riyadh.
